Yantina was commissioned for charter and licensed
fishing in 1973 for a professional in Mandurah and Jurien
Bay, W.A. from 1973 until 1995, she had two owners and did
an average of 1500 hours per year with 1 re-power in that
time. The original was a 160hp Perkins diesel and then in
1989 upgraded to its present 70C Volvo.
When we purchased Yantina, it was to convert
her to a pleasure craft. But half way through the refurbishment
we decided to keep her in work. With plenty of seatime under
my belt I had to sit exams and study to become a skipper.
4 weeks all done and to work, now with 1000hrs per year
since.
Yantina came into some trouble over Christmas with the
engine blowing up, the problem was shortly fixed after some
back breaking work from Michael. Yantina now has a rebuilt
380Hp Fiat and has picked up a few extra knots.
